Where in Norway
The destination changes the plan more than the volume does
Norway is a long country with a complicated coastline. A delivery to Oslo and one to Tromsø are different jobs, and it is the second question we ask rather than the last.
-
The south-east is the straightforward part
Oslo, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Tønsberg and the belt around them are the simplest deliveries on the route: reachable by road, well served, and no different in kind from a delivery anywhere in northern Europe.
-
The west coast is further than the map suggests
Bergen, Stavanger and Ålesund are not far in a straight line and are a long way by road, because the road follows fjords and takes ferries. It is entirely routine and it is not a straight run.
-
Trondheim and the middle
Further again, and a change in character: longer stretches between places, and a delivery that is planned as its own leg rather than as an extension of a southern run.
-
The north is a different kind of job
Bodø, Tromsø and beyond are a serious undertaking by road and are frequently better served by coastal shipping for part of the way. Perfectly doable, planned differently, and worth raising at the first conversation.
-
Winter changes the plan, not the possibility
Mountain passes close, ferries adjust and the northern legs slow down. None of that stops a move; it means the route is chosen with the conditions in mind and the plan has some give in it.

Winter changes the plan, not the possibility
Mountain passes close. Ferries adjust their schedules. The northern legs slow down. None of that stops a move, and we run them through the cold part of the year as a matter of routine.
What it means practically is that the route is chosen with conditions in mind and the delivery window is given some give. We would much rather tell you the window is loose and be right than tell you it is tight and be wrong.

What is in the load, where in Norway it is going, and whether there is a vehicle. Those three decide almost everything, and the first two decide the paperwork.
